My boys are not unusual in that they want to play with guns. No matter how hard I try, they have always enjoyed this passion. Many boys feel this way. Unfortunately, we do not live in a safe world. When people see teenagers with toy guns, they often assume that they are real. That is why it is so important for the kids to use clear airsoft guns. Without the clear air soft guns, they are not safe pursuing their hobby.
Some of my boys friend have more realistic air soft guns, but I do not let them play with them. I will not even let my child play air soft if not all of the weapons being used are clear airsoft guns. It is not enough if just your child is using a clear airsoft gun. All the children have to be, or all of them are in danger. It was only a year ago when tragedy nearly struck, but people have forgotten too quickly in this community. One of the local boys was using an air soft sniper rifle when a policeman came by on other business. The cop almost shot the kid, although the kid was only 10 years old. Because he was not using clear airsoft guns, the cop could not tell that his weapons weren’t real.
Fortunately, clear airsoft guns are more and more popular nowadays. In fact, they are so popular that they are much easier to find than the normal kind. Although model replica toy guns still have a special place in every child’s heart, nonetheless the parents are having none of it. Many communities, in fact, have outlawed replica handguns. You can use things that look like science fiction toy guns, clear airsoft guns, and other similar playthings. You cannot, however, use anything that looks like a realistic weapon. Even historical hand gun replicas are out of the question.
I never thought about stun guns until I was presented with one. I lived in a small town, and crime was just something that we heard about on the news. There were some things that happened in our town, but most of those things were minor and they were never something that meant danger. When I moved to the city to go to college I learned that the things on the news were suddenly very close to me. Though I did not get a stun gun, I had one in my apartment thanks to my roommate.
She grew up near Cleveland so she was a little more realistic about crime. She knew that the stuff on the news was very real where as it was more of an abstract concept for me. It’s not that I didn’t know this stuff happened, it was just that I had never had to apply it to my own life. Stun guns were a good way to carry something around with you that would not kill another human being. When something goes wrong, you do want to protect yourself, and if you use stun guns you don’t have a death on your conscious.
More and more women are carrying stun guns with them. Those who live in areas that might not be considered safe might want to have one with them in the event that someone attacks them. Though you may think that something like this will never happen to you, you have to know that you don’t know what will happen next. You might not be able to stop someone from coming after you, but you can offer yourself some protection and peace of mind by carrying stun guns with you.
The laws on stun guns will differ from state to state. You will have to find out what is legal and what is not legal in your state. You should remember that a stun gun is considered to be a weapon, and there are many places where you may not be able to take it with you. You should also remember that stun guns are not allowed on planes, and I’m not even sure if you can put them in the luggage you store under the plane. If you are going away, you may have to leave your stun gun at home. You may be able to get away with taking it them with you in certain situations, but you should know that it is always best to find out before you go. This information should be pretty easy to find online.
Some people think that this is kind of draconian. They believe that it is the parents responsibility to control how their kids use their toys, and that the state does not have the right to mandate that every child use only clear airsoft guns. Although I sympathize with where they are coming from, I think they are not keeping things in perspective. A child gains very little from using a replica handgun, but can potentially lose his or her life. He can still pretend to be a soldier with a less realistic looking weapon.
OUCH! I can’t believe I just got hit in the leg again. Those darn air soft guns will be the death of me. This was my point of view at age 11. You see I grew up in a house-hold with three brothers. I was constantly tormented and picked on. I don’t actually know why. I wasn’t the youngest, nor was I the oldest. My eldest brother on the other hand was the worst. He was 10 years older than me and would always get with my other two brothers to pick on me. It was definitely a gang-up situation going on back then. My main goal at the time was to steer clear of their sadistic plans and stick to my own business. The last thing I needed was to get blasted with another one of those air soft guns. Wow, did they ever sting!
Now days I have to admit that I enjoy air soft guns. This is some-what of a safe and entertaining way to practicing with a firearm. Although it’s certainly not the real deal, the replicas designed are awesome in likeness. I currently own a Tech-9. Now, for all of you freaks out there who go nuts over air soft guns, I know you would like to own one of these babies. It’s a classic to say the least. The replica is nice and hefty, comes with a 15 mag, a steel cocking slide lever, and nylon shoulder strap. How fun can you get! The ideal targets for air soft guns are shoe boxes. I discovered this early on. Now let me tell you why. You basically take a shoe box of any size, remove the lid, tape a few sheets of newspaper over the opening, and draw a bull’s-eye on it with a magic marker. Now you have the perfect indoor target for air soft guns. It will catch all your plastic rounds. This way you won’t lose them all over your home. Having said that, the worst target possible for air soft guns is a human being or animal. NEVER point or aim these at other living creatures like my eldest brother used to do. Not only to they hurt and leave bruises, you could end up hitting someone in the eye and doing some permanent damage.
Contemporary air soft guns are solely meant for fun and target practice. Keep this in mind if you’re shopping for children. In all honesty, I think these sorts of toys should be left for the adults. Safety first!
